What do you do when you love your neighborhood and your home but you need something fresh and new- well you call Architectural Resource to work some ‘space alchemy’! Our clients were blending families and wanted to create a new, shared “our” home in celebration. They needed more space and wanted to update their existing living areas; remodel the kitchen, entry and bathroom; create a ‘parent’s sanctuary’ Primary Suite including a recreation space; add a home office; embrace Not So Big® design and, oh… by the way, not encroach into their backyard. Tall order? Not for AR! Come see how an inspired whole-house remodel and seamlessly integrated new second story addition not only solved their challenges but thrilled our clients.

We discovered Michael and his Architectural Resource team at a local home renovation tour. The house they designed blew away the other seven houses on the tour. We knew immediately we wanted (needed!) to work with Michael and his team.
We were looking to add on to our 1960s house while staying true to the neighborhood style. We didn’t want the addition to look like an alien spaceship beamed down to earth!
Designing the house with Michael and his team was fun and engaging. We appreciated the user-centered design phases of the process. At each phase, they asked great questions to understand our needs and gave us lots of opportunities to provide feedback. The AR team added several features to the home we hadn’t thought about on our own. For instance, they added a skylight to the stairway landing that is now a focal point of the home; this was one of many features only experienced residential architects like AR would think to add, which we hadn’t considered on our own.
We’re thrilled by our remodeled home and have Architectural Resource to thank for the design and planning. We knew we were in good hands throughout the process, especially with how thorough and detail-oriented they are. We’ve recommended the AR team to several friends and neighbors since working with him (including one that is right up the street and currently under construction), and we’d be happy to recommend them to you, too!
