Building on the success of our Permanent Wood Foundation at the Sanctuary at Hope Farms, our next PWF project is well underway for our client Linda in Armada, Michigan! Is a PWF really a thing you might ask, apparently, the builders of Venice thought so… it is built entirely using wood pilings. The earliest documented modern PWF use in the States was in 1937 when the American Wood Council developed its PWF Design Specification, and it is still in use today. It even has its own section in the International Residential Building Code. Why PWF? Carbon baby, carbon, amongst a host of other benefits.
