The wood finish of the cathedral ceiling in the great room of our clients, Steve and Lauren’s new custom sustainable home seeking USGBC LEED® for Homes certification is going in.  We used the design principle that darker surfaces, and especially those with variation in texture and pattern, advance while lighter, less textured surfaces recede.  We’re able to bring the scale of the space down while still creating the openness and expansive views to the site outside.  Love it!
